Phuket
Phuket Island (pronounced puu gèt), is Thailand's largest at 48km in length and 21km at its widest. It's in Southern Thailand, on the west-facing Andaman Sea coastline, suspended from the southern tip of Phang Nga Province by a pair of short but substantial road bridges.
Explore DestinationBangkok
Bangkok, official name Krung Thep Maha Nakhon, is the capital of Thailand and, with a population of over eleven million inhabitants, by far its largest city. Its high-rise buildings, heavy traffic congestion, intense heat and naughty nightlife may not immediately give you the best impression — but don't let that mislead you. It is one of Asia's most cosmopolitan cities with magnificent temples and palaces, authentic canals, busy markets and a vibrant nightlife that has something for everyone.
Explore DestinationHua Hin
Hua Hin is a seaside resort city in Thailand. It is popular with Thais, having become quite fashionable as a weekend getaway spot for Bangkok residents, as well with foreigners and as an ex-pat retirement or holiday home location. It is in the Province of Prachuap Khiri Khan, to the north of Prachuap city, which is about one to two hours distant by bus. Although developing rapidly, there is a commitment by the local and provincial authorities to avoid the kind of overheated blight that has affected other beach resorts in Thailand.
Explore DestinationChiang Rai
Chiang Rai is the main commercial centre serving the Golden Triangle border region of Thailand, Myanmar and Laos. It is an excellent base for exploring the region. Chiang Rai is essentially a service city for the surrounding province. Despite its relatively small population, Chiang Rai has respected universities and other civic facilities.
Explore DestinationKrabi
Krabi is a small city with a population of around 55,000. Located just upriver from the coast, it has no beaches and most visitors make a beeline for Had Yao, Ao Nang or Rai Leh (Railay).
Explore DestinationChiang Mai
Located on a plain at an elevation of 316 m, surrounded by mountains and lush countryside, it is much greener and quieter than the capital Bangkok, and has a cosmopolitan feel and a significant expat population, factors which have led many from Bangkok to settle permanently in this "Rose of the North".
Explore DestinationKo Khai (Chicken Island)
Ko Khai is an island located between Ko Adang and Ko Rawi in Satun province.
Explore DestinationRailay Beach
Railay, also commonly known as Rai Leh, is a tourist area located on the Andaman Coast of Thailand, in Krabi Province. Rai Leh is primarily known as a rock climbing hot spot, attracting climbers from all over the world to its superb towering limestone.
Explore DestinationPhi Phi Island Ko Phi Phi
Ko Phi Phi or Phi Phi island is a small archipelago of six islands in Krabi Province, Southern Thailand. It is touted to be one of the most beautiful yet easily accessible island groups in the world. While the latter is certainly true, the former is quickly becoming less so. The entire region is technically part of a marine National Park, but the hordes of visitors have taken a toll on the beaches and reefs over the years.

Elephant Encounters
Thai elephants (or "chang" in Thai) have been part of the country's history and national identity since ancient times, and also have a close association with Buddhism and Hinduism. The number of elephants living in Thailand in 1900 was around 100,000. Just over 100 years later, this number had fallen to around 3,000. Nearly half of those numbers were domesticated, and the rest wild in National Parks.
Elephant riding has been banned and is widely considered to be unethical. Despite this, the demand has grown especially with the rise of tourism from China. The topic has been well covered in this piece by NYT which is aging well.
Our local experts can arrange safe and ethical encounters with these gentle, majestic creatures on your Thailand vacation. These interactions can be life changing and will absolutely leave you with a lasting sense of awe.
