Fine Arts Museum of Vietnam

Museum of Fine Arts has a rich and varied collection of artistic traditions from throughout Vietnam’s history. Some 3,000 works are on display, arranged chronologically from the prehistoric era to the present. It’s easy to spend several hours here — the museum is housed in a building so beautiful, it merits a visit all by itself.

Museum of Ethnology

On a dusty highway, set apart from Hanoi’s romantic lakes and leafy boulevards, is one of Vietnam’s most modern and insightful museums. The Museum of Ethnology opened in 1997, and it documents Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups. It’s an essential stop for culture lovers and anyone keen on exploring Vietnam’s heritage.

War Remnants Museum

War Remnants Museum

Easily one of the most highly charged stops on any Ho Chi Minh City tour, the War Remnants Museum has three floors of exhibits and galleries dedicated to telling the story of the Vietnam War from the perspective of the North Vietnamese. Many of the photographs and displays are extremely graphic and disturbing, so make this stop only if you're mentally prepared.
